At the heart of North Carolina, lies a jewel: Charlotte a Queen of a city. Served by the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) with more flights every day per resident than any other airport in the US, getting to the Carolinas is a piece of cake. If you prefer a more gentle approach, train or bus links with Amtrak and Greyhound will get you to there effortlessly. A warm welcome is guaranteed at your hotel Charlotte is well known for its warmth but be warned, once there you may never want to leave.

Founded in 1768 and named after Queen Charlotte of England, British Rule was successfully ejected long ago, but many of the city's wonderful characteristics echo its founder's passions. She mothered 15 children and would be delighted to know that there's something to entertain each and every one in Charlotte today. She was a connoisseur of the arts and together with her close friends Bach and Mozart she'd be proud of the fine artistic and musical heritage that lives on in her city.

The hotel Charlotte scene promises you a regal reception. You can expect to be treated like a Queen. With over 4000 hotels downtown and 30,000 citywide, you get to choose the price and the style that suits your needs. From Green and Eco-conscious to fast paced to child friendly. You'll find hotels with spas providing relaxation combined with rejuvenation. Sumptuous sheets and soft comforters promise sweet dreams whether your budget allows for a luxury hotel or something more in the style of "home from home" hotels.

Always ahead of the curve, the city was home of the first gold rush. In 1924 it saw the birth of NASCAR races with a 250 mile race on a wooden track and an audience of 30,000. NASCAR races continue to thrive at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord: home for 85% of all their teams. The audience has grown and the stadium seats 167,000, offering a total experience to race fans. Visitors can even earn to race like the pros.

When you have had your fill of that octane, what about a trip to the newly opened NASCAR Hall of Fame with something for everyone? This interactive and high tech state of the art attraction honors the history and heritage of NASCAR races. Add to the mix, tributes to the legends that shaped the sport, giant stock cars and a theater seating more than 270 and it's no wonder that the average visit to this attraction lasts over 3 hours.

Located next door and linked by a convenient over-street walkway is the 90,000 square foot Charlotte Convention Center. The perfect place to host or attend a meeting. It is bright modern and spacious and the food is fabulous. Add to the mix the ease of access to down-town and it's easy to see why so many businesses are rushing to book the Charlotte Convention Center.

For the young, or just the young at heart, there are the rip-roaring rides at the Carowinds theme park. But if all that adrenaline is too much, mellow out and enjoy the wealth of exotic plants and manicured lawns at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. Or maybe you crave culture? Art abounds in Charlotte, from modern art at the Bechtler Museum to African-American Arts at the Harvey B Gantt Center. And as night falls, why not take in a show at one of the many theaters downtown or listen to music, from classical to jazz to Broadway tunes at Belk Theater? Or just kick back and listen to local music in one of the downtown brew pubs.

All that sight-seeing must have given you an appetite and you're in the right place. You can savor the best southern barbecue right here! Every June, the "Taste of Charlotte Food Festival" draws 150,000 people to experience fantastic food from the hottest haunts. But regional favorites abound year round and Restaurant News Magazine named Charlotte one of the "Top Cities that Sizzle." A truly mouthwatering variety of gastronomic delights await you, from the best southern barbecue to the finest haute cuisine of France and around the globe.

Whether seen on foot or experienced in your hotel Charlotte is sensational but don't just take our word for it, see for yourself.
